Opioid Use Recovery
Research Study
Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) are conducting a research study to learn how a light-based intervention may affect sleep, daily rhythms, brain health, mood, and recovery-related outcomes in adults receiving methadone or buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder. The study combines at-home monitoring with in-person visits at UAB to help researchers better understand the relationship between light exposure, sleep, and recovery.

Additional Information
This study is being conducted to evaluate whether a two-week morning light intervention may influence sleep, circadian rhythms, brain function, mood, and recovery-related outcomes in individuals receiving treatment for opioid use disorder. Researchers hope the findings will help improve understanding of how sleep and circadian health relate to recovery.
