Survivorship: Understanding Patient Perspectives, Outcomes,
Relationships, and Tobacco Experiences after Diagnosis

Cancer patients and survivors have unique experiences that are important to understand. This study aims to better understand those experiences by surveying cancer survivors who have tried to quit using any nicotine or tobacco product in the past year. Findings from this study may help to inform the development of tobacco treatment services that support patients following a cancer diagnosis.

Additional Information

Because nicotine is addictive, people may be at risk for using tobacco again even after they have quit. This can be especially risky for individuals who have a history of cancer. That’s why this research is focused on cancer patients and survivors who have tried to quit tobacco, in order to examine factors associated with the risk of going back to smoking. You do not need to completely quit using tobacco to become eligible for this study.
