This study is being conducted to better understand opioid use disorder and to explore a new experimental vaccine that targets oxycodone. Researchers hope to learn whether the vaccine is safe and how the body responds to it, which may help guide future approaches for treating and preventing problems related to opioid use.
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Physically dependent on opioids
- Not seeking treatment for opioid use
- No known allergies to vaccines
- Ages 18-59
- Not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Open to receiving a vaccine targeting oxycodone
If Eligible, Study Procedures Include:
- Regular study visits for 21 weeks
- Continued study visits from weeks 21-42 (every 4-6 weeks)
- Regular assessment of physical health (ECG, vitals, bloodwork)
- Psychiatric Assessments
- Questions about side effects and new medications
Physically dependent, healthy individuals who use opioids needed for an outpatient research study at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Earn up to $6,000 for your participation.
