This study aims to better understand how people living in rural communities respond to different health promotion messages. What researchers learn will help improve future health communication materials so they are more effective and relevant.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Inclusion Criteria:

• Ages 18+
• Live in a rural community in New England
• Have access to a desktop or laptop computer with a web-camera to complete online survey
• Live in rural areas of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, or Maine

If you choose to participate, you will:

1. Complete a one-time online survey on a desktop or laptop computer.
2. View two health promotion messages.
3. Answer questions about the messages you viewed.
4. Allow secure eye-tracking software to measure where and how long you look at different parts of the screen. The software converts this information into numerical data, such as the amount of time spent viewing specific areas.
5. Finish the survey in approximately 7–10 minutes.

Participants who complete the study will receive $15 for their time. Because this is a one-time online survey, transportation is not required.
