This research study is evaluating the safety and tolerability of an investigational medication called CMND-100. Researchers will also study how the medication is absorbed, distributed, and processed by the body after multiple doses.
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 18-60
- Willing to stay overnight at a clinical research unit for at least 6 consecutive days
- No recent substance use disorder
- Able to follow study restrictions, including restrictions on certain medications, substances, alcohol, and caffeine
- No recent major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, suicidal thoughts, or suicide attempts
If you are interested in participating, you will first complete a 15–20 minute phone screening to determine whether you may qualify.
If you appear eligible, you will be invited to attend an in-person screening visit, where the study team will review your medical history and perform additional evaluations to determine eligibility.
If you qualify, you will stay at the Johns Hopkins clinical research unit for at least 6 consecutive days. During your stay, you will receive either CMND-100 or a placebo (an inactive medication) once daily for 5 days. Throughout the study, you will complete medical assessments that include blood draws, electrocardiograms (ECGs), vital signs, and questionnaires. Three meals per day and snacks will be provided during your stay.
About 6 days after leaving the research unit, you will return for a follow-up visit to complete final study assessments.
Eligible participants may receive up to $5,125 for completing all required study visits and procedures.
During the inpatient stay, participants will have a private room with a private bathroom and shower, meals and snacks provided, access to a smart TV with streaming services, laundry facilities during designated hours, and shared recreation spaces with games, a PlayStation 5, books, puzzles, and an exercise bike.
Depending on the study visit, transportation assistance may be available and can include parking passes, bus tokens, or Uber/Lyft transportation.
