The purpose of this research study is to reduce lung cancer through innovating tobacco cessation treatment trials.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Veterans ages 18+
- Smoke cigarettes daily
- No regular use of other tobacco products including e-cigarette, cigar, snuff
- Interested in quitting smoking
- Own a smartphone with text messaging capabilities
- No current use of bupropion or varenicline
- Not living in same household as a participant already enrolled in the study
- If female, not pregnant
Your participation in this study will not require any in-person visits. Once enrolled, this study consists of receiving daily text messages, completing various surveys and other study tasks which will be sent to you through text message.
Compensation is provided up to $750 for your participation.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study. However, any costs/fees associated with study communications (e.g., text messages) will be your responsibility and not that of the research team.
