Study Background
The Medical University of South Carolina is conducting a study with young adults 18-25 years old.
The purpose of this remote research study is to better understand the relationship between tobacco/nicotine and cannabis co-use among young adults.
This study will use a smartphone application that delivers incentives for quitting tobacco. Participants will also be provided with counseling to support quit attempts from tobacco.
The study will take about 6 months to complete and will include 17 study visits total. All procedures will be completed remotely.

The purpose of this remote research study is to better understand the relationship between tobacco/nicotine and cannabis co-use among young adults.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 18-25
- Smoke cigarettes or vape nicotine daily or almost daily
- Use cannabis but are not interested in cannabis treatment
- Interested in quitting tobacco
- No unstable medical, psychiatric, or substance use conditions
- No current use of smoking cessation products
- If female, not pregnant or trying to become pregnant
The study will take about 6 months to complete and will include 17 virtual study visits in total. All procedures will be completed remotely (no in-person visits).
Eligible participants will be compensated up to $1,030 for their time.
