Knee Osteoarthritis
Research Study
Researchers at the University of Colorado are conducting a study to learn more about chronic knee pain and the brain in people diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.

Pain Primarily In One Knee

Conducted in Boulder, CO
Study Background
Researchers at the University of Colorado are looking for people diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (OA) with primarily one sided knee pain to participate in a research study on chronic knee pain and brain signals.
We want to observe the differences in brain signals as people diagnosed with OA use their painful and non-painful knees.
This study will consist of 6 in-person visits overall, including a calibration session and 5 fMRI scanning sessions. During the calibration session, participants will become familiarized with the motor and somatosensory tasks they will do in the fMRI scanner. In the following 5 visits, each lasting approximately 1.5-2 hours, participants will complete these tasks during fMRI scans.
