In this speech accessibility project, we want to make voice recognition technology more useful for people with a range of diverse speech patterns and disabilities. We are looking for adults with cerebral palsy or Down syndrome to provide speech samples.

Researchers at the University of Illinois are recording individuals with cerebral palsy or Down syndrome to make voice recognition technology more useful for people with a range of diverse speech patterns and disabilities.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ages 18+
- Diagnosed with cerebral palsy or Down syndrome OR caregiver to an adult diagnosed with cerebral palsy or Down syndrome
- Live in the US with the exception of Illinois, Texas, and Washington state
This research study is completely self-paced. Participants will record themselves reading 430 speech prompts on their electronic device.
On average, this takes participants 4-7 hours to complete, over the course of 2 weeks.
As a participant, you can receive up to $180 for your time and effort.
Caregivers can receive up to $90 for their time and effort.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
