Study Background

Researchers at Temple University are conducting a clinical study with highly motivated and ambitious teens to learn more about emotion systems.

In this research study, we want to learn more about sleep and circadian rhythms, reward responsiveness, and emotion systems in teens. We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious teens ages 13-16 who live in Philadelphia.

This is a 3-year long study involving several remote and one in-person visit per year. During these sessions, participants will complete various tests including saliva sampling, self-reported behavioral measures, and fMRI scans of reward neural activity and functional connectivity. Participants will also complete interviews about reward-relevant life events, sleep, substance use, and mood and behavior.
