Study Background
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego are investigating a treatment drug for individuals diagnosed with anorexia nervosa (AN).
This study aims to see if a drug called COMP360, along with psychological support, can help treat anorexia nervosa (AN).
COMP360 is made in a lab and is similar to a chemical found in some mushrooms called psilocybin. Some studies suggest psilocybin might help with anorexia nervosa symptoms. COMP360 works by affecting the serotonin system in the brain, which helps control mood.
By testing COMP360 with psychological support, this study hopes to learn more about how it could help people with anorexia nervosa feel better and improve their mental health.

Additional Information
This study is being done to see if a drug called COMP360, along with therapy, could help treat anorexia. COMP360 is a lab-made version of a compound found in some mushrooms, and it might help with anorexia nervosa symptoms. It works by affecting the mood-regulating part of the brain called the serotonin system. We want to find out if using COMP360 with therapy can make people with anorexia feel better and improve their mental health.
