Additional Information
Cigarillo use can affect smoking behavior, mood, and attitudes toward tobacco products. This study aims to better understand how young adults use cigarillos, how different types of cigarillos influence smoking patterns, and how these experiences affect individuals’ feelings and perceptions.
By studying cigarillo use in a controlled research setting, we hope to gain insights that could inform public health approaches, improve understanding of tobacco use, and support efforts to reduce the risks associated with smoking.
The findings from this research may help guide interventions and policies to reduce tobacco use in young adults.
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:

The study involves several in-lab visits over a few weeks. Once enrolled, participation includes:
In the lab: You will attend 1 pre-screen/baseline visit (approximately 1 hour) and 5 additional lab visits (about 1–2 hours each). During these visits, you will smoke a cigarillo using a machine that measures smoking behavior, complete study surveys, and participate in computerized research tasks.
Assessments: Throughout the study, you will complete surveys about your mood, experiences, and attitudes toward cigarillos. These surveys help researchers understand how smoking behavior affects feelings and perceptions.
As a participant, you may receive up to $475 for completing the research study.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
