Survey of Military Men
Researchers at the University of Washington are conducting an online survey to better understand how alcohol use and sexual behavior interact.
Participation is fully confidential, and names will never be associated with responses. Eligible participants will be asked to complete a 25–40 minute survey.
The US military has no involvement in this research and no one in command will know you participate or have access to any information you provide. The research is solely conducted by researchers at the University of Washington.

This survey is being conducted to better understand how alcohol use and sexual behavior interact. By gathering confidential data from participants, researchers at the University of Washington aim to gain insights that can help inform future public health strategies and interventions.
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Basic Inclusion Criteria:
- Active duty military member
- Identify as male
- Have engaged in sexual activity with another man in the past year
Complete a short screening form

Receive a follow-up if eligible
- If your responses meet eligibility criteria and show no signs of fraud, you will receive a secure link to the full survey.
- Researchers may need to contact you briefly to confirm eligibility criteria.
Complete the online survey
- The survey takes approximately 25–40 minutes to complete.
- Your participation is entirely confidential
- Your name will never be linked to your responses.
- The study is conducted by researchers at the University of Washington; the military is not involved and will not have access to any data.
