Researchers at the University of Chicago, Hartford Hospital, and Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center are conducting studies in adults to understand schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder, and how best to treat it.
This study aims to discover if grouping individuals with symptoms of psychosis into different categories based on specific, measurable indicators (biomarkers) can better inform decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment.

Additional Information
This research study aims to determine whether measuring specific biomarkers in the brain of people with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder can help improve treatment outcomes.
You or the person you care for may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
- 18-50 years old
- Diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder with psychosis
- Willing to possibly change some of your medications
Exclusion Criteria:
- Substance or alcohol use disorder
Participation in this study will involve the following:
- Screening procedures: To determine eligibility including cognitive testing, tests to measure
electrical activity in the brain (EEG), eye tracking, clinical interviews, physical exam, and blood
tests. - Study visits: Weekly study visits for 14-18 weeks may include more cognitive testing, blood tests, medical
evaluations, EEG, eye tracking, clinical interviews, and receiving the study medication.
Participants will receive up to $1200 for participating in our research study.
